Integrity is keeping a commitment even after circumstances have changed. Just ask Daniel about those lions. Such biblical heroes made commitments to God in good times—commitments challenged in the midst of difficulty. Integrity makes men great.

When I was young I was sure of everything; in a few years, having been mistaken a thousand times, I was not half so sure of most things as I was before; at present, I am hardly sure of anything but what God has revealed to me

We're always looking for things that we can do that prove our love for Jesus that can be seen and witnessed by those around us. We wrongfully conclude that those proofs are found in the "accepted" duties spelled out for us by tradition and even friends. Jesus, however, doesn't want those kinds of things to prove our love for Him. He simply wants to see us loving him just for Himself and not to prove anything to someone who might be watching us. What do you think you are not doing that would give Jesus great joy, if you were to begin doing it?

In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich

You were called to freedom, brethren, only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another - (Galatians 5:13)

Never lose heart in the power of the gospel. Do not believe that there exists any man, much less any race of men, for whom the gospel is not fitted.

Saturating our lives with the fat of God's Word will keep us from all sorts of spiritual problems. Jesus said that the one who feeds on Him will abide in Him and He in them. There's a lot of junk food available. Feed on that which is profitable. Be careful what you read and what you see and what you hear.

Jesus says there are times when your Father will appear as if He were an unnatural father, as if He were callous and indifferent, but remember He is not; I have told you - "Everyone that asks receives." If there is a shadow on the face of the Father just now, hang onto it that He will ultimately give His clear revealing and justify Himself in all that He permitted.

If you don't feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because you have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because you have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Your soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.

When we begin to doubt God, it's not that we stop practicing our faith, but that we begin to put our faith in someone or something else than the only one who can pull us out of the storm.

God is a living God and Jesus Christ, with all power and all authority, is at the control panel, guiding and sustaining all things in the universe. That concept is fundamental to the Christian faith. It is necessary that we really and fully comprehend that our God is indeed the Majesty in the heavens.

To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.

Your brain is much like a computer, it retains what goes in. You might be able to delete your computer files, but you will never be able to totally delete what has gone into your brain.

Reputation is what people think you are. Character is what God knows you are. 1 Samuel 16:7 tells us that the "Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."

Isaiah the Prophet

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. (ESV Isaiah 43:1c–3a)
