One lesson we should remember when people we trusted disappoint us is to turn once again to the Lord and renew desire to believe him no matter what. We must remind those who turn away from the Lord because of the failure of others, that at the end of the day they are still confronted with a Christ who invites us to believe in him regardless of the failures of his followers.

Whenever the message of your words and the message of your actions conflict, the message of your actions will always win out.

If you see an apple with a worm hole in it, the worm did not bore into the apple; he bored out of it. The egg was laid in the blossom, and the worm was hatched inside the apple and made its way out. Pride is on the inside and makes its way out of our hearts. (AAJ: the only way to make certain that the worm isn't on the inside is to make certain that the Holy Spirit fills every space in the heart).

The true test of a person's religion is not his ability to speak his mind, but to hold his tongue. That is why the psalmist wrote, "I will watch what I do and not sin in what I say. I will curb my tongue when the ungodly are around me" (Psalm 39:1 NLT).

Paul told us that he had learned to be content in any situation that the Lord put him. He was, of course, talking about the material things that surrounded him. I don't think he was relating that to his spiritual life. In our hearts we should never be content with the level of spirituality that we have. We, like Paul, should desire to be ever more conformed to the image of our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Let us, therefore, press on…

God usually meets us at our level of expectancy. That's why, in many ways, your expectations will set the boundaries for your life. Jesus said, 'According to your faith... be it done to you.' One translation puts it simply, 'Become what you believe.' So. . .what do you really believe?

In spite of his failures and falls, I believe David's secret lay in the fact that he understood God, who 'searcheth all hearts' and his heart's cry was, 'My heart is fixed. Oh! God, my heart is fixed.' In an old phrase David 'knew his heart's home.'

The sun is able to melt the ice that lies in the coldest part of the earth by just giving it's sunbeams enough time to penetrate the cold caused by darkness and distance. And just so, the Son is able to bring warmth to melt the coldest of hearts as His Sonbeams of love shine through the lives and testimonies of His chosen beams of light on this earth. Keep being a Sonbeam for Jesus.

Fear fails to take into account that God is able to hold back the forces of evil. God's hand is not shortened that it cannot save. He has the power to deliver.

Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart." It is commonplace to understand this verse to mean that God wants to fulfill our desires. Not so. David is saying that if our delight is in the Lord then He will transform our desires so that they will actually reflect His desires. He will enable us to want what He wants. He will then satisfy those wants.
